One of the primary reasons companies migrate to 3D is to help solve interference type problems as products get manufactured and assembled. This is a difficult thing to analyze in a 2D environment, and 3D by itself can help. However, while all 3D tools have some type of “interference detection”, SolidWorks goes WAY beyond the norm to provide multiple assembly verification tools to not only design a better mousetrap, but also to help find potential problems before chips are ever cut.
